The Woodlands Primary School Junior Choir made our school proud last Thursday 20th June, with a beautiful performance at the ‘Children Sing’ Festival held at UWA.

Singling two songs – ‘Raining on the Rock’ and ‘Wombat on a Surfboard’, the choir was the only Junior Choir to sing at the Festival on that day. Participation in this event gave our students the opportunity to perform in front of a large audience at the well known Octagon Theatre at UWA.

Woodlands Music Specialist Mrs Danielle Rees explained the event was an important way for the students to develop both their understanding and use of performance technical skills. It gave them an opportunity to experience music as both performers and audience members. The opportunity to perform in front of family members was also a plus, enhancing choir students sense of pride in their work.

Many positive comments were received from attendees, including comments such as ‘absolutely beautiful’, ‘so glad I went’, ‘so proud of them’ and ‘their white uniforms really stood out and looked great’.

Well done to our Junior Choir and Mrs Rees, those early morning rehearsals before school really paid off – keep up the great work!
