The beautiful weather set the scene for a fabulous and very successful Faction Carnival on Friday 24thAugust.

The preparation the students and staff had put in to the events in the lead up was obvious on the day, with high performance from the children and all events running seamlessly and smoothly. The focus of the carnival was Participation, Belonging (teamwork and cooperation), Possibilities (trying your best) and enjoyment.  Excellent feedback was received from staff and parents about the exemplary teamwork, encouragement and behaviour displayed by our students.
After some admirable competition, the faction carnival winners at the end of the day were Banksia on 1210 points, followed by Hakea on 1152  points, Jarrah on 1109 points Tuart on 1098 points.
Congratulations to all the students for their effort and commitment and a special congratulations to our champions and runners up.
Thanks to the staff for all the work in making the day a success and a special thank you must go to our Athletics Carnival Coordinator, Courtney Jones, whose preparation resulted in a wonderful carnival that ran smoothly and to time.
We would like to thank the families who turned up to cheer the students on. A special thanks to those parents who came early and left late to assist staff with setting up the oval on the day. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all the Year 5 parents who contributed to the fabulous food stalls.
We are looking forward to hosting the interschool athletics carnival on Wednesday 12th September. Students will be advised shortly if they have been chosen to represent Woodlands at the Interschool carnival.
