Telethon Junior Choir Performance 2017

The Woodlands junior choir has been selected to perform at Telethon this year! Students need to be at school at 6.30am this day for an 8am performance! Mrs Danielle Rees is the event coordinator.

This excursion is the Junior Choir’s live performance on Channel 7 Telethon and supports their learning in The Arts in the area Music – Skills, ideas, performance and responding. 

The cost of the excursion is $5.70 which covers the cost of bus fare.

The choir will depart from Woodlands Primary School at 6.30am and arrive at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) at 7.00am. Students are to be collected from the foyer of Pavilion One at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) by a parent or guardian after the performance at 8.15am. A parent or guardian MUST sign their child out from a member of the supervisory team when they are being collected.

All years 3 and 4 Junior Choir students will be attending the excursion. Members of the supervisory team will be Mrs Rees, Miss Collins and Miss Giudice. Contact arrangements during the excursion: 0403906494 (Mrs Rees), 0439834606 (Miss Collins) and 0411981896 (Miss Giudice).

Activities to be undertaken:

Students arrive at Woodlands Primary School (Music Room)               6.15am

Depart Woodlands Primary School (via bus)                                         6.30am

Pre-performance venue, staging and performance briefing                   7.00am – 7.50am

Live performance                                                                                    8.00am (approx.)

Return - PARENT TRANSPORT directly from PCEC                             8.15am (approx.)

The Junior Choir is scheduled to perform at 8am. Channel 7 Telethon is broadcast live in Western Australia over a constantly televised 48-hour period. Performance times are approximate. Please arrive in the foyer of Pavilion One at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre promptly after the performance (approximately 8.15am) and wait for students to arrive for collection.

Special clothing or other items required:  Full School Uniform.

Boys: bottle green shorts, mint green Woodlands Primary School polo shirt, white socks and black shoes.

Girls: bottle green skort, mint green Woodlands Primary School polo shirt, white socks and black shoes.

Girls should have their hair done in two pony tails with green ribbons. Two green ribbons will be provided to students when they arrive at Woodlands Primary School on Sunday, 22nd October 2017 at 6.15am. The school has purchased ribbons to match the school uniform.

Dinner, water and toilets: once students arrive at PCEC there will be limited access to toilets. There is no storage area for snack food. Students are permitted to bring one labelled bottle of water. Students are responsible for carrying their water bottle and collecting it following the performance. Please ensure your child has had any required medication, eaten breakfast been to the toilet prior to being dropped to school at 6.15am.
